Fairfax County Rental Program (FCRP)

The Fairfax County Rental Program (FCRP) includes all rental housing property owned by the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority and developed with funds other than public housing funds. The FCRP’s portfolio of homes includes nearly 2,500 homes for families, single persons, seniors, and supportive housing for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.

FCRP homes look just like all the other types of housing we have in Fairfax County – apartments, townhouses, condominiums, etc. – and are incorporated seamlessly within communities all across Fairfax County. Individual communities offer a varied assortment of residential amenities and all of our properties have access to the many community amenities provided by the county in their specific area such as recreation, libraries, parks, public transportation and more.

Fairfax County Rental Program Housing

The FCRP offers homes affordable to a variety of household income levels. Not all properties included in FCRP will have the same income limit requirements. These requirements are set dependent on a number of factors – to include the funding and regulatory stipulations assigned to specific units based on the program through which it was developed. Please call the specific property for income eligibility.

When we have vacancies in our FCRP communities, new tenants are selected from among those on the community’s housing wait list. For information on the current status of a particular waitlist, please contact the community you are interested in to determine if they are accepting new applications. If a waitlist is “closed” this means the list is full and cannot accept new applications at this time.

Applicants who have been selected to a housing waitlist may confirm their status on the list by contacting the community directly. When an applicant is selected from the waitlist, they are offered a unit that best meets their circumstances based on accessibility, number of bedrooms, affordability, etc. As we cannot predict when vacancies may occur at FCRP properties or whether an applicant who may be ahead of another in the waiting list order may or may not accept a specific unit offered, it is impossible to determine the wait time for applicants to be selected from the waitlist.
