Fairfax County To Hold Public Information Meetings on Plans for New Bicycle and Pedestrian Trail Along I-66

Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will hold two public information meetings on the planning and implementation of the Off Corridor portions of the I-66 Outside the Beltway Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail.  The meetings will include an overview of construction on I-66 by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and a review of the proposed trail along the I-66 corridor, including the off-corridor segments being funded by Fairfax County .

The meeting will also include an interactive exercise with attendees to explore possible names for the new trail.  Attendees will be asked to submit names and weigh in on a sampling of names that have been suggested. FCDOT will than narrow the list of names and host an online survey to vote on the trail names to be presented to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and Virginia Commonwealth Transportation Board for consideration and approval. 

Public Information Meetings

Both meetings will include the same information:

• Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 7:00 -8:30 p.m. at Marshall Road Elementary School (cafeteria), located at 730 Marshall Rd SW in Vienna.

• Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Centreville Elementary School (cafeteria), located at 14330 Green Trails Blvd in Centreville.
