I-66 Trail map

Help us choose a name for the new trail along the I-66 corridor! A new pedestrian and bike trail is being incorporated along the I-66 corridor that connects Merrifield, the Fairfax County Government Center, Fair Lakes, Centreville, and Cub Run, offering new options for multi-modal travel through Fairfax County.  The top name(s) from the online survey will be forwarded for recommendation to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and ultimately to the Commonwealth Transportation Board for final approval. The online survey will be open from June 3, 2019 through June 30, 2019.

Background

FCDOT and the Virginia Department of Transportation held two public information meetings in April on the planning and implementation of the Off Corridor portions of the I-66 Outside the Beltway Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail.  The meetings included an overview of construction on I-66 by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and a review of the proposed trail along the I-66 corridor, including the off-corridor segments being funded by Fairfax County. The meeting also included an interactive exercise with attendees that explored possible names for the new trail.
