Fairfax County Seeking Input on Active Transportation and Trail Network

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) is inviting the community to learn more about and provide feedback on the proposed Active Transportation and Trail Network, a new effort that combines and updates the Bicycle Master Plan and the Countywide Trails Plan.

Attend a Community Open House or Virtual Meeting and Provide Input

In order to encourage community-wide feedback, FCDOT has scheduled 12 in-person open houses around the County, where transportation staff will be available with exhibit boards to talk about the plan, the process, answer questions and capture feedback. The open houses will be conducted in English and Spanish. Please contact FCDOT at 703-877-5600, TTY 711, for accommodations in another language prior to 14 days before the event date. Meetings will be held:

The ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan seeks to establish a framework for safe, comfortable, affordable, convenient and healthy active transportation options. Active transportation is mostly non-motorized travel including walking, biking, hiking and riding a scooter or horse for transportation or recreational purposes.

FCDOT is leading this effort to update and streamline the current active transportation planning guidance to ensure it aligns with the Board of Supervisor's vision for a multi-modal transportation system that serves all residents and visitors of the County.
