The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will present updates on Richmond Highway Corridor Improvements and the Richmond Highway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, "The One," on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at 7 p.m. The in-person meeting will be held in Room 221 of the Gerry Hyland South County Government Center, 8350 Richmond Highway, Alexandria. After the presentation, FCDOT, VDOT and Fairfax County Department of Planning and Development staff will be available for questions on all Richmond Highway efforts during an open house until 9 p.m.
The Department of Neighborhood and Community Services will provide shuttle service from the Gum Springs and Hybla Valley Community Centers, as well as on-site childcare during the event. Please email the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) to request either service.
FCDOT's last community meeting for the Richmond Highway BRT project was a year ago, Jan. 31, 2024, and the first since Fairfax County announced a revised timeline for the project.
