Fairfax County Launches Community Survey for Richmond Highway BRT Station Artwork; Open House Set for April 29

Fairfax County is incorporating artwork into Richmond Highway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations to reflect the history, identity and character of the neighborhoods surrounding each station area. The County has worked with local students and professional artists to design three options for the windscreen area (shown in blue with a yellow boundary on the graphic) at each of the nine station locations along the project corridor, an effort that has become known as “Community Charm.”

Take the Survey

Members of the community are being asked to review and rank the artwork options for each station location through an online survey available April 6 through May 8, 2026. The survey is being offered in both English and Spanish through the Survey Monkey platform at the links below:

Attend the Open House

In addition to the public survey, Fairfax County Department of Transportation staff will host an open house to provide displays of the proposed artwork, answer questions and receive feedback on the proposed designs. The open house will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Bryant High School (2709 Popkins Lane, Alexandria).

Free on-site child care and shuttle transportation to the meeting (from Gum Springs and Hybla Valley Community Centers) is available. Please email Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services at ncscrccregion1@fairfaxcounty.gov by April 22 to request these services. Meeting materials will be available in English and Spanish and bilingual staff will be present.

For more information, visit the Richmond Highway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) webpage.
