The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will present recommended improvements to sidewalks, bike paths, transit stops and crossings located on Route 29 between I-495 and Tripps Run at the Falls Church City border, just east of South Maple Ave, at an in-person public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, at 7 p.m., in the cafeteria of Timber Lane Elementary School, 2737 West Street, Falls Church. 

Following the presentation at approximately 7:30 p.m., residents and commuters will have the opportunity to review exhibit boards, ask questions and provide comments. An online survey will be available close to the meeting in October.

FCDOT held an initial community workshop in November 2025 to discuss existing corridor conditions. A second public meeting took place in May 2026 to present a range of proposed alternatives, and the October 2026 recommendations are based on feedback received at the May meeting.
