Board Matter

Madam Chairman,

Each October, the National Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) is observed to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities. This is also an opportunity to educate the public about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities. 

The Fairfax Area Disability Services Board, along with the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board’s Welcoming Inclusion Network have respectfully requested that the month of October be proclaimed as Disability Employment Awareness Month in Fairfax County.  

Therefore, Madam Chairman, I ask, without objection, that the Board proclaim October 2018 as Disability Awareness Month in Fairfax County, and that the Fairfax Area Disability Services Board and the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board’s welcoming Inclusion Network be invited to come before the Board on October 16, 2018 to accept this proclamation.
