Joint Board Matter with Supervisor Gross Inviting INOVA Leadership to Meet with the Board
Madam Chair:
INOVA is our premier health care provider in Fairfax County. It is also an important partner in county programs, such as prenatal care for at risk mothers, the Health Care-Associated Pneumonia (HCAP) eligibility system, and the Beginning Steps for Parents Program, which provides supportive services for first time parents.
INOVA is also a necessary partner in emerging county priorities. County staff and INOVA need to partner on important aspects of Diversion First, so appropriate mental health screenings can occur. Other priorities include contracted operation of the Community Health Care Network (CHCN) clinics that serve low income - uninsured adults, primary and mental health services for individuals with HIV or AIDS through the Inova Juniper Program, and Elderlink services for adults with disabilities.
order to enhance this necessary coordination, we need high level discussions between the Board of Supervisors and INOVA to strengthen our partnership. INOVA leadership has offered to meet with the Board of Supervisors to make sure our programs and priorities are properly aligned. order to jump start this coordination, we move that the Board invite executive level staff from INOVA to meet with the Board of Supervisors and senior county staff this winter on a committee day to discuss how we can best coordinate our efforts.
Therefore, we move that the Board invite executive leadership of INOVA to join us for such a meeting in the coming months.
