Neighborhood College is a FREE, eight-session civic engagement program open to residents interested in learning about Fairfax County and how to work with neighbors, community organizations and local government to strengthen neighborhoods, build community capacity and promote sense of community. This is an excellent leadership program for residents who serve as officers on their homeowner or civic association board.

Through a combination of lectures, group discussions, and practical experiences, participants will:

  • Learn about Fairfax County Government and how it works.
  • Understand demographic profiles and trends in community context.
  • Explore topics that impact or strengthen neighborhoods and communities
  • Find out how to work effectively within diverse neighborhoods and communities.
  • Become effective community leaders.

Classes will be held on eight consecutive Thursday evenings at

Little River Glen Senior Center
