The former Northern Virginia Training Center (NVTC) site and the current State Police property, are located south of the intersection of Braddock Road and Burke Station Road in the P2-Main Branch Community Planning Sector, Pohick Planning District section of the Comprehensive Plan.

The Comprehensive Plan Map recommends most of the NVTC parcel and the State Police parcel for Public Facilities, Governmental and Institutional Uses. A small area on the western edge of the NVTC parcel lies within a steam valley and Resource Protection Area, and is planned for Public Parks.
