The new Lewinsville Adult Day Health Care is scheduled to open in Spring 2019. We visited the construction site recently and wanted to share the progress with you.
Entry
The exterior features a roundabout for successful hand-to-hand drop-off, with a canopy to keep our participants warm.
Front Desk
The lights are ready to be hung and cabinetry is being finished. This is where participants will be greeted each day and receive their name badge.
Recreation Therapy Office
Our Recreation Therapist Karen stands in her new office, which is surrounded in windows. Right now the view is of construction supplies, but when finished, this 360 view will enable her to help monitor all participant needs.
Great Room
This partial view of the new great room does not begin to show its true size, which is extremely spacious and will accommodate comfortable recliner chairs, sofas and other furniture. Skylights are being added to the ceiling which will enable even more sunlight to pour in.
Interior Walking Path
This walking path loops around the interior of the new center and has a handrail for safety. The windows look out onto the playground of a child day care center in the building. Participants will be able to enjoy watching the children play outside.
Courtyard With Fountain
A secured garden will feature a fountain, flowers and benches. The sensory experience — the sound of the fountain, visuals of flowers and feel of fresh air — helps participants stay centered and calm.
Library
The new library — seen through the window on the other side of this bookcase — will be the center of activity for participants to enjoy books, audio (Music and Memory and books on tape) and other programs.
