Fairfax County Government offers employees a wide variety of benefits; from health benefits to life insurance options, disability and leave programs. Employee benefits begin on the first of the month following your date of hire. New employees and employees who have become newly eligible for benefits due to a change in their employment status, may elect benefits by logging into FOCUS Employee Self-Service (ESS) within their initial 30-calendar day benefits eligibility window. This time period commences from their date of hire or status change. Once your enrollment is completed and saved, it is recommended that you print or save your Benefits Participation Overview. This is your confirmation or receipt for enrollment. No paper forms for enrollments will be accepted for new enrollments.
