CALL TO ORDER:
Commission Chair Crawford called the Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Commission Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
Approval of Agenda: It was moved by Commissioner Hudson and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the April 16, 2025, be amended, adding conciliation case HRC# 2024030H / HUD# 03-24-5099-8. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
It was moved by Commissioner Shumaker and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that March 19th, 2025, Minutes be approved as amended. The motion passed, with Commissioner Malik abstaining.
STAFF ISSUES: Director Simms informed the commission that the board of supervisors will present the fair housing proclamation on Tuesday April 22nd. Director Simms also mentioned that the office is planning the Housing Summit which will feature resources to assist people with housing. Staff will send out a save the date as the event approaches.
COMMISSION BUSINESS:
FIR- HRC # 2024037H / HUD # 03-25-5246-8: Guerre, Christopher and Guerre, Sara v. National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States et al.: It was moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Shumaker that the complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fairfax County Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
FIR- HRC # 2024061H / HUD # 03-25-5609-8: Fairfax County Human Rights Commission v. Fanny M. Bonilla et al.: It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Shumaker that the complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fairfax County Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
Successful Conciliation HRC # 2024053H / HUD # 03-25-5678-8 - Fairfax County Human Rights Commission v. South Alex Subsidiary, LLC, et al.: It was Moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Shumaker that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

Iyer Rajan S Tr, et al.: It was Moved by Commissioner Bokhari and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

COMMUNITY CONCERNS: There were no community concerns.
PENDING BUSINESS: Commissioner Salinas inquired about the website. Mike will get in touch with Miranda who is head of the website and discuss the pictures and they will plan to take the pictures in May at the Fair Housing Summit. Mike will send out a reminder as the time approaches
NEW BUSINESS: Commissioner Crawford inquired about getting new commissioners. Mike will inform on this when he is updated.
