CALL TO ORDER:

Commission Chair Crawford called Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Commission Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

 

Approval of Agenda: It was moved by Commissioner Salinas and seconded by Commissioner Conde that the March 5, 2025, Amended Agenda be approved as presented.  The motion passed by unanimous vote.  

 

Approval of Minutes: It was moved by Commissioner Conde and seconded by Commissioner Salinas that the February 5, 2025, Minutes be approved as presented.  The motion passed, with Commissioner Bokhari and Commissioner Shumaker abstaining.

 

STAFF ISSUES: Director Simms informed the commissioners that OHREP posted an ad for the Fair Housing Position, that ended February 28th. Interviewing will begin the first week of April. 

Director Simms also informed the commissioners about the fair Housing Summit that will be held in May, the staff will provide more information to the commissioners as the event approaches.

 

COMMISSION BUSINESS

 

Appeal- HRC #2023087E/ EEOC# 10D- 2024-00016- – Slaughter v. My Salon Suites: It was moved by Commissioner Conde and seconded by Commissioner Bokhari, that the staff finding be overturned and that a violation of the Human Rights Ordinance has occurred in this matter. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Successful Conciliation- HRC# 2020054E/ EEOC# 10D-2020-00046C- Bolden V.  ConsultNet, LLC- It was Moved by Commissioner Salians and seconded by Commissioner Crawford, that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed unanimously.

 

COMMUNITY CONCERNS: There were no community concerns.  

 

PENDING BUSINESS: None.  

 

NEW BUSINESS: None.
