CALL TO ORDER:

Commission Chair Crawford called Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Commission Meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with the implementation of a panel.

 

Approval of Agenda: Unable to approve due to the implementation of a panel   

 

Approval of Minutes: Unable to approve due to the implementation of a panel   

 

STAFF ISSUES: Unable to approve due to the implementation of a panel   

 

COMMISSION BUSINESS:

APPEAL - HRC # 2024029PA: Okatan v. Cozmo One: It was moved by Commissioner Shumaker and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the appeal be returned to staff for further investigation. The motion passed by unanimous vote.

 

FIR - HRC # 2025012H / HUD # 03-25-5790-8: Davis, Savannah v. Mid- America Apartments LP: It was moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Shumaker that the complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fairfax County Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP. The motion passed by unanimous vote.  

 

FIR - HRC # 2024045H / HUD # 03-25-5275-8: Woodson, Victoria v. Paradigm Management et al.: It was moved by Commissioner Shumaker and seconded by Commissioner Malik that the complaint be dismissed due to insufficient evidence that a violation of the Fairfax County Fair Housing Act has occurred consistent with the recommendation of OHREP. The motion passed by unanimous vote. 

 

Successful Conciliation - HRC # 2024026H / HUD # 03-25-5825-8: Fairfax County Human Rights Commission v. SCD Scotts Run, LLC.: It was Moved by Commissioner Malik and seconded by Commissioner Crawford that the conciliation agreement in this matter be accepted as presented. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
