5th Anniversary Tour de Hunter Mill is May 4

Tour de Hunter Mill. Join us for this community bike ride on May 4

Saddle up for the Tour de Hunter Mill community bike ride on Sunday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to noon. This is the 5th anniversary for this annual ride that was created by Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn.

Registration is now open, and the fee is $30 per rider. However, children and teens age 15 and under ride for free with an adult. New for this year, team registration is available, and you can join your friends, family or colleagues to ride together.

“The Tour de Hunter Mill is an opportunity for people to explore the Hunter Mill District on bicycle,” said Supervisor Walter Alcorn. “We’ve got some great new things for people to see.”

Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a first-time rider, this bike ride is designed for people of all ages and abilities, including families. Riders may choose from two new, different scenic routes:

Ride marshals and Fairfax County Police officers will be on hand to help ensure a safe ride and assist bicyclists as needed.

This year both routes will cross the bridge for the W&OD Trail over Wiehle Avenue and a new access path at the Herndon Metro Station. Riders will also experience the district’s other bike friendly paths, routes and infrastructure too.

When you register for the tour, you’ll receive this event’s ever-popular bike socks, which are orange-colored this year.
