Celebrating the Reston Multicultural Festival’s 25th Anniversary

Board Matter May 19, 2026

With Chairman Jeff McKay

Background:Every year, we celebrate Reston’s rich diversity and inclusive community spirit during the Reston Multicultural Festival.Woman with child pointing a world map at the Reston Multicultural Festival

This year marks the festival’s 25th anniversary, and over the past quarter-century, it has grown into a premier, regional event, drawing thousands of visitors to experience music, dance, traditional crafts and cultural traditions from around the world.

This annual event honors Reston’s founding principles that embrace arts, culture and inclusivity as cornerstones for the community. The festival builds a strong sense of belonging and pride across the rich diversity of cultures and generations that call Reston home.

This year’s event will take place on September 19 at Reston Town Center. Festivalgoers will experience more than 20 performances across multiple stages, interactive street-level programming and traditional crafts, handmade goods, food and local community organizations. The event is presented by the Reston Community Center in partnership with the Reston Town Center Association, with support from BXP and the Reston Association.

I invite you to attend on September 19 and join me in celebrating the festival’s Silver Jubilee.

Motion: Therefore, Mr. Chairman, I ask without objection that the Office of Public Affairs prepare a resolution to recognize the Reston Multicultural Festival’s 25th anniversary to be presented in the Board room on August 25, 2026.
