The company, which specializes in artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, cyber defense and software engineering, will invest $849,000 to more than double its offices at 12100 Sunrise Valley Drive.
“Congratulations to Data Machines on its expansion in Reston,” said Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter L. Alcorn. “I’m thrilled to see a veteran-founded company choose to grow its roots in Reston, and I want to thank the entire Data Machines team for the complex work they do in support of our service members and our national defense. I’m excited to see what comes next.”
The firm will add about 10,000 square feet to its existing 6,500-square-foot headquarters, according to Data Machines.
The expansion will give the company additional capacity to grow its team, strengthening its collaborative, innovative environment to take on complex challenges for its federal government clients.
Founded in 2016, Data Machines has built its business in Northern Virginia which offers an exceptional concentration of technology talent, federal customers and companies supporting the nation’s most critical missions.
Data Machines joins another technology company that also recently announced its expansion at Reston Town Center West. Blue Sky Innovators will build a secure innovation lab at its offices at 12210 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, plus add 175 new jobs. This dual-use company focuses on AI, space and cyber. In September, the Board of Supervisors approved accepting a $840,000 state grant to support Blue Sky’s expansion.
The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority worked with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to secure Data Machine’s expansion. The state will support this federal IT contractor’s job creation through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, which provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs to support employee recruitment and training activities.
