Community bike ride set for Sunday, May 3, starting and ending at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens
Fairfax County Supervisor Walter Alcorn announced today that registration is now open for the sixth annual Tour de Hunter Mill, a community bike ride open to cyclists of all ages and abilities. The event will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon.
"I invite everyone in our community to join our district's most active annual tradition," said Supervisor Alcorn. "This year the ride focuses on Vienna, and itβs a reminder that biking is a great way to get around Hunter Mill District.β

This year's tour will begin and end at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, offering riders a fresh look at Vienna's scenic neighborhoods and green spaces. Routes will wind past local parks, take in the I-66 and Route 7 trails and their transit connections, and explore back roads leading to the iconic Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
Two route options are available:
- Short Route: 11 miles
- Long Route: 19 miles
Riders may participate as individuals or family or register as a team with friends, family, or colleagues. The registration fee is $30 per adult rider. Children age 15 and under ride free when accompanied by an adult. Family pricing (up to five people) is available by contacting the Hunter Mill District office directly by email or call 703-478-0283, TTY 711. Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling members receive an automatic discount.
No one will be turned away for inability to pay β those who cannot afford the registration fee are encouraged to contact the office to arrange free registration.
Each registered rider will receive this year's coveted Tour de Hunter Mill branded bike socks β tie-dyed and sure to be a hit. Registration also includes a $5 donation to the Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling.
Helmets are required for all riders. The tour is held rain or shine.
