Help cleanup Tysons Forest in celebration of Earth Day. Join Supervisor Walter Alcorn and the Tysons Forest Community Task Force picking up litter and debris from this hidden, green oasis just steps from the Spring Hill Metro Station in Tysons.

Let’s meet in the forest at the Vesper Trail bridge. Cleanup supplies will be provided.

So we have enough supplies, registering for the event is strongly encouraged but isn't required.

Directions:

The event will be held in Tysons Forest behind 1593 Spring Hill Road, Vienna where parking is also available. (Park behind the building at 1593 Spring Hill Road.)

Background: Tysons Forest

The Tysons Forest is a 65-acre urban forest corridor that stretches along a narrow strip of land from the Dulles Toll Road southeast to Gosnell Road, bisected by Old Courthouse Spring Branch, a fifteen-foot-wide stream that has shaped this green corridor. Because the land along this steam valley is owned by multiple owners, Supervisor Walter Alcorn convened a community task force in 2013 to develop strategies to preserve and enhance this urban forest. This cleanup directly fulfills one of the task force's recommended actions, and cleanups have been held annually since 2024.
