FCPL’s new catalog isn’t so new anymore, but there may be tricks to using it effectively and efficiently that you still don’t know. See if these two tips give your catalog skills a boost!
Advanced Search: If you know precisely what you’re looking for, this is the best way to find it. Click the “Search” tab at the upper left of a catalog webpage to expand a dropdown menu of additional searching options, including ways to limit by format, library branch, publication date, language, audience (adult, teen, child, and so on), and more! Select “Advanced Search” and then click “More Search Options” to access all available filters and categories.
- Titles on Order: Check this list out if you’re looking ahead for new things to read. These are items pending publication that the library has ordered. Once a title is listed in the catalog, you can place a hold to receive it after it has been published and processed for lending.
