By Erin Chernisky, Library Volunteer Manager
When asked to picture a library volunteer, is the image that pops into your head a person quietly putting books on shelves? While that’s true of some, other library volunteers don’t touch books at all; their hands are busy with seeds and soil. Working tirelessly outside FCPL’s branches, these nature-inspired supporters plant, weed, water and mulch to create beautiful and welcoming landscapes for library visitors and staff. If you have a green thumb and are interested in sharing your time and talents, check for opportunities with your local FCPL branch or view current opportunities.
