Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) is an eye-opening community awareness program created to help parents spot the signs of potentially risky behavior in teens. Through this unique experience, our officers will take you on a journey to uncover what might be hiding in plain sight.
The program kicks off with a hands-on “show and tell,” where we highlight common “red flags” that could indicate risky behavior. From there, we dive into an engaging presentation covering a wide range of topics, including drug and alcohol use, vaping, mental health concerns, social media risks, trending clothing and challenges, and more.
We back it all up with the latest stats, local trends, and real-world stories from our experienced officers right here in the community. Plus, we’ll provide valuable resources to help you tackle these challenges, whether you’re facing them now or might in the future.
To wrap it up, we’ll share practical tips on how to start meaningful conversations with your teens and address concerns in a constructive way. This is more than just a program—it’s a chance to learn, connect, and empower yourself as a parent.
