July 27, 2021: Board of Supervisors created an Executive Director to the Panel.
Feb. 28, 2017: Board of Supervisors appoints nine members to the Police Civilian Review Panel.
Feb. 14, 2017: Richard G. Schott was appointed as Fairfax County’s first independent police auditor.
Dec. 6, 2016: Board of Supervisors votes to establish a Police Civilian Review Panel.
Sep. 20, 2016: Board of Supervisors votes to establish an Office of Independent Police Auditor (Authorizing Action Item, Sept. 20, 2016).
Oct. 25, 2015: The Ad Hoc Police Practices Commission’s Independent Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee’s recommendations, which included the establishment of a police auditor and a police civilian review panel, were presented to the Public Safety Committee of the Board of Supervisors.
Oct. 20, 2015: The Ad Hoc Police Practices Commission submitted its final report and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on October 20, 2015.
Mar. 3, 2015: The Ad Hoc Police Practices Commission was created by Chairman Bulova to review Fairfax County Police Department policies and practices and endorsed by the Board of Supervisors.
