Colonial Pipeline Installation to affect New Braddock Road Eastbound Turn from Route 28 Northbound Starting Aug. 15
For Immediate Release
Aug. 8, 2022
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) is announcing a temporary partial lane closure from the Route 28 northbound right turn lane to New Braddock Road eastbound starting Monday, Aug. 15 (expected) and lasting 10 working days through Friday, Aug. 26.
Although the work is not part of FCDOT’s Route 28 widening project, the closure is required for Colonial Pipeline to conduct upgraded maintenance on their existing pipeline that crosses Route 28 just south of New Braddock Road. Colonial is coordinating with FCDOT and the project contractor, Shirley Contracting, and has received a permit from VDOT for this work.
This closure will affect approximately 300 feet of the 400 foot long Route 28 northbound right turn lane to New Braddock Road eastbound, and will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the maintenance.
