FCDOT held two community meetings to gather public input on the project improvement's preliminary (30%) design:
Virtual Meeting:
An in-person meeting also was held on Thursday, June 30 at Churchill Elementary School in McLean. Feedback will be collected through July 29, 2022, via the form at the bottom of this page.
The proposed improvements will realign the Balls Hill Road and Old Dominion Drive intersection by removing the existing skewed intersection configuration and providing improved traffic signal operations. The project includes roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements, and the addition of bike and pedestrian facilities to provide connectivity through the project site.
Design services for surveying, geotechnical, civil, and traffic signalization have been approved, a survey began in May of 2020 and a schedule is being developed.
Supervisor John Foust and the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will hold a second public information meeting on the Balls Hill Road and Old Dominion Drive Roadway Spot Improvement Project on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., at Cooper Middle School.
