The Lorton Campus, located at 8875 Lorton Road, Lorton, VA 22079, will be open for dog, cat, and small animal adoptions beginning Thursday, Oct. 26. Our adoption process and hours will be the same as those of our Michael R Frey Campus:

Monday: Closed

Thursday and Friday: 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Beginning Oct. 26, adoptable pets from both locations will be featured on our adopt page, along with information indicating which campus to visit in order to meet them.

Owner Surrenders

Surrenders continue to be by appointment only. For more information about owner surrenders and answers to questions about stray animals, click here.

Our goal is to help keep pets with their families, if at all possible. To learn more about how we can help by providing pet food and supplies, behavioral support and low-cost vaccinations, please visit our Pet Resource Center.

Shelter Services

All shelter services, including our pet food pantry, pet haven program and vaccine and microchip clinics, will be operational at the Lorton Campus starting on Oct. 26.

Upcoming Foster and Volunteer Opportunities

Please check our volunteer and foster pages for updates on current opportunities.

Donations

Thank you for your generosity! We are currently accepting drop-off donations at both the Michael R. Frey Campus and Lorton Campus. For a list of our most-needed items, including our Amazon wishlist, visit our donate page.

Monetary donations are always very much appreciated and can be directed to the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, the nonprofit fundraising partner organization of the shelter. Friends provides the funding for emergency treatment and other life-saving medical care, dental procedures, parasite prevention, equipment and supplies, pet enrichment items and much more!
