The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) is making changes to our walk-in assessment schedule to serve you better.
An assessment is a meeting where a clinician talks with you to understand what kind of help you need. They will ask simple questions about how you’re feeling, what challenges you’re facing and what services might be best for you.
Walk-in services will now be available only at certain hours Monday to Thursday. We will not offer full same-day assessments for first-time walk-ins on Fridays. However, we will still provide brief risk checks for anyone who walks in on a Friday.
Please visit the EAR webpage for current hours.
Why we are making this change
The assessment schedule change will help us serve people more smoothly and reduce wait times. We want everyone who comes to us for help to get care in a timely and expected way.
Sometimes, when a lot of people walk in at the same time early in the week, we cannot see everyone that day. Our team will help the people that we can’t see right away register and give instructions for coming back that Friday. This lets us finish assessments that were delayed and helps prevent people from having to come back more than once.
