Wraparound Fairfax, sometimes called Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) services, provides a comprehensive, culturally competent, holistic, youth- and family-driven way of responding when children or youth experience serious mental health or behavioral challenges.

We work with families, including those whose children are either returning from or are at risk of an out-of-home placement, who need help finding and organizing services.

Wraparound is an individualized, family-centered, team-based planning process focused on natural supports and the strengths of families. A facilitator leads regular meetings where team members help families use their strengths to achieve their ‘family vision’ and support one another.

There is no cost for Wraparound services. Wraparound is not a treatment provider, a crisis response service, or a funding stream/source.

What can my family expect?

There are four phases of Wraparound services:

• Engagement
• Planning
• Implementation
• Transition

Each month a Youth and Family Team Meeting will be co-led by you and your assigned facilitator. Goals, needs, updates and successes will be discussed.

Families should be willing to try new things (we think outside the box pretty often!), take on tasks, reach out to others for help and support, plan for crises/emergencies, and use their team to meet family goals.

Facilitators will make visits to your home more frequently in the early phases of Wraparound services. Monthly meetings can be at your house, your child’s school, our office, or another safe place of your choosing. Decisions about treatment, needs, services and supports are made during the monthly meetings.
