Bus Stop Notice - Route 574

Due to bus operations related concerns, the timepoints associated with Bus Stops ID# 2657 (Route 7 eastbound) and ID# 2669 (Route 7 westbound) will be removed from the scheduled. Route 574 will still serve these stops but buses may arrive earlier than previously scheduled and will no longer hold at those locations. Passengers boarding Route 574 at other stops along Route 7 may also experience early bus arrivals due to this change. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Herndon-Monroe Partial Bus Loop Closure October 29, 2018

Due to the installation of a new stair tower, the Herndon-Monroe bus loop will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Fairfax Connector and Metrobus will use bays closer to the garage under construction or the temporary bus stop at the entrance to the park and ride facility on Sunrise Valley Drive. All service and bus stop locations before 10 a.m. and after 3 p.m. will not be affected. Work is expected to take place through December 2018.

Herndon-Monroe Garage Re-striping Work

Portions of the Herndon-Monroe Garage will be closed beginning October 1. Pavement re-striping will be occurring in multiple locations and drive lanes and parking spaces will be re-striped in a new configuration. Accessible parking spaces will be relocated to new areas on the first floor.

To ensure the safety of commuters who are ridesharing, including carpooling and slugging, pick up and drop-off areas have been relocated.

Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride Advisory: Sidewalk Closed

The sidewalk adjacent to the old surface lot will be closed until the new garage is completed. Vehicle access will be restricted to one lane into the complex. Pedestrians should use the temporary sidewalk for the duration of the project. Click on the image below to enlarge.

Route 334 Advisory: Single Route Detour

Effective Jan. 8, 2018, through Fall 2018

To improve connections at the Franconia-Springfield Metro & VRE Station and provide more predictable travel times, Route 334 will operate a single route pattern at all times. Three stops will be missed due to this detour. Bus Stop IDs: 1860, 1862, and 6201.

Routes 321 and 322 Advisory: Bus Stop ID Relocation

Effective Sept. 30, 2017

Bus Stop ID #5162 – Industrial Road @ Commercial Drive - will not be served by Routes 321 and 322 until further notice. Passengers traveling to and from this location can use Bus Stop ID#3859 – Commercial @ E Industrial Road. This stop is located approximately 150 feet north of Industrial Road on the east side of Commercial Drive.
