Understanding public assistance programs can be confusing and it’s hard to know where to start. The Public Assistance and Employment Services (PAES) team is here to help!
The Public Assistance and Employment Services division provides employment services and public assistance to help individuals and families become self-sufficient and work towards financial stability. PAES administers benefit and employment programs such as SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, WIOA, job search and workforce training, and much more.
PAES staff will come to your school, health clinic, resource fair or other events in the community to share information about financial, medical, food, energy, and employment assistance.
We are happy to:
- Provide information about benefit and employment programs in Fairfax County
- Answer general questions about how to apply and what each program can offer you
- Provide a presentation about our programs to administrators, counselors, social workers, or volunteers
We cannot give case-specific information or make eligibility decisions during outreach efforts.
