Reserve the Helen G. Wilson Community Room

The Helen G. Wilson community room, located in the Franconia Governmental Center, is available for use by the Franconia District community at no cost.

To reserve the room, please fill out the form here or call our office at 703-971-6262, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Guidelines for Room Reservation and Use

Guidelines for room reservation and use: 

  • The community room is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The room is available 8am to 10pm daily, including weekends.
  • All events held must be open to the public and free of charge. Selling, soliciting, or admission fees are prohibited.
  • The space is equipped with tables, chairs, a whiteboard, and optional AV equipment (which must be reserved in advance). 
  • The room can accommodate the following:  
    • 80 people standing room only.
    • 50 people seated with just chairs.
    • 40 people seated with tables and chairs.
  • All activities must remain inside the room. Please do not use the lobby in addition to the room.
  • Residents/organizations may reserve the room at a maximum of once per week.
  • If you would like to reserve the room on a recurring basis, you will have a limit of 90 days. At the end of the 90-day period, please contact the office to renew your reservation.
  • Be mindful of other business taking place in the building and keep your group’s noise at a respectful level. 
  • When publicizing a meeting to be held in the community room, the sponsoring group, time, and location (including directions) must be clearly identified on all flyers. Do not include the Franconia District Supervisor’s office telephone number on any of the flyers.
  • High school student groups must have a non-student chaperone at all times, even if one or more students are 18 years old.
  • Alcohol is prohibited.
  • There is no cleaning service provided for the community room. Your group is responsible for leaving the room in the condition it was in at your arrival. This means:
    • Taking all trash with you and replacing the trash bags with new bags from the rolls provided.
    • Turning off lights and removing signage.
  • If there are any violations of the guidelines, groups will be contacted with a warning. If violations continue, the group will not be allowed to make future reservations.

Please note that county events take precedent over community-scheduled events. Any reservations that interfere with county events will be rescheduled with the appropriate notice given as soon as it is possible. Thank you for your understanding.
