Successful Children and Youth Policy Team (SCYPT)

SCYPT logoIn order to become confident individuals, effective contributors, successful learners and responsible citizens, all Fairfax’s children need to be safe, nurtured, healthy, achieving, active, included, respected, responsible.

Ensuring that our children and youth thrive and reach their fullest potential requires the collaborative effort of the entire Fairfax community.

This can only be realized if the County, schools, community, and families pull together to plan and deliver top-quality services, which overcome traditional boundaries. All segments of our community have a vital role to play in achieving all elements of this vision.

The Fairfax County Successful Children and Youth Policy Team (SCYPT) works to guide a Collective Impact approach to fully support outcome driven collaborative work.

Vision: A community where all children and youth thrive and reach their full potential.

Mission: We, the Fairfax community, collectively ensure all children, youth, and their families and communities have equitable access to quality services, supports and opportunities to further their success and well-being.

Outcomes: We also aim to ensure that disparities – whether based on race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, geography or any other circumstance – are identified and eliminated.

SCYPT Initiatives

We aim to ensure that disparities – whether based on race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, geography or any other circumstance – are identified and eliminated.

The SCYPT’s priority on racial and social equity led to the One Fairfax policy, a joint commitment by Fairfax County Government and Fairfax County Public Schools to consider impacts on equity in decision-making.
