Medical Care for Children Partnership

strip of five photos showing a child receiving medical or dental care

The Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP) program connects children with a consistent medical doctor, a dentist and related healthcare services. MCCP wants children in Fairfax County to improve their health and well-being and realize their potential to learn, grow and thrive.

The program provides access to quality, comprehensive medical care and dental healthcare services to children aged 0-18, of low-income working families who could not otherwise access such services. MCCP is not health insurance.

MCCP is a collaboration between the Fairfax County Government, the MCCP Foundation, and the generous support of medical, dental and business communities.

  Eligibility

Your child may qualify to receive MCCP medical care if you:

  • Live in Fairfax County or the Cities of Fairfax or Falls Church
  • Meet income guidelines of earning no more than 250% of the federal poverty level for your household size
  • Do not have affordable health insurance through an employer or through Virginia's Insurance Marketplace
  • Do not qualify for Cardinal Care - Virginia Medicaid for Children, or FAMIS
  • Cannot pay for doctor visits or medicine for your children.

Citizenship is not required. You must be the parent or legal guardian to apply for MCCP on behalf of a child.

Have questions or need more information? Call 703-324-7315, TTY 711 or email MCCP@fairfaxcounty.gov.

  Services

Through the MCCP program, your child may receive:

  • Medical Care (such as physical exams, well-child visits, immunizations, prescription drugs, eye exams, laboratory services, x-rays, physical therapy, mental healthcare, and specialty medical services)
  • Routine Dental Care (such as dental cleanings, fluoride treatment, X-rays, and fillings)
  • Other Individual Support (such as transportation arrangements, information and referrals, appointment coordination, and links to other needed services)

The partnership includes health care providers throughout Fairfax County. Co-payments are required for services. Hospitalization and emergency room visits are not covered by the program. The MCCP program is not health insurance.
