During Social Skills Camp, Certified Speech Language Pathologists will lead fun and engaging small group activities (the maximum class size is 10 children). These exercises will help your child learn how to cooperate, practice taking turns, and build other skills that will help make navigating social interactions easier.

“Our team is really looking forward to hosting a camp this summer. It was important to us to host this because social skills are vital to successfully interacting with the world around us,” said Jessica Kollaros M.A., CCC-SLP, Rehabilitation Services Manager, Fairfax County Health Department.

The camp is offered to children 4–8 years old who have an active IEP (Individualized Education Plan). If your child does not have an evaluation/IEP, they must have an evaluation prior to attending camp.

“If you are looking to help your child expand their listening and sharing skills, this camp is an excellent option to consider. Social skills give kids a wide range of benefits. They are linked to greater success in school and better relationships with peers,” shared Jessica.

Social Skills Camp will take place at Joseph Willard Health Center in Fairfax, Virginia, July 25 – 29th, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The cost is $440 per child, which includes materials and a mid-morning snack. A sliding scale offered for all Fairfax County Residents who may qualify based on income qualifications. Medicaid is accepted.
