2023 HUD CoC Program Competition Information
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the FY2023 HUD Continuum of Care Program Competition on July 5, 2023. Detailed information regarding this national competition can be found here.
As noted in the FY2023 CoC Program Competition Estimated Annual Renewal Demand (ARD) Report released on July 25, 2023, Fairfax County CoC (VA-601) is eligible to apply for up to $11,853,046 for renewal and new projects. This includes:
$10,067,742 in Renewal Funding (Supports existing projects operated by current HUD Grantees)
$704,742 in Bonus Funding (New Funding Opportunity)
$577,175 in DV Bonus Funding (New Funding Opportunity)
$503,387 in Planning Grant Funding (available to the Collaborative Applicant)
As the Collaborative Applicant for Fairfax County's CoC (VA-601), the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness is responsible for conducting a local funding competition to evaluate, select, and rank projects as part of the CoC Consolidated Application and the CoC Priority List.
Fairfax County CoC's local competition schedule, which includes information for renewal project applications and how to apply for the new funding opportunities, can be found below. These deliverables have been established no later than 30 days before the FY2023 CoC Program Competition Application submission deadline on September 28th in accordance with the NOFO. Information due to the CoC Lead should be submitted by 4:00 pm on the date requested. Renewal and new project applicants will be notified in writing whether or not their applications were accepted for inclusion in the CoC Consolidated Application and ranked on the CoC Priority Listing at least 15 days before the FY2023 CoC Program Competition Application submission deadline on September 28th.

As noted in the FY2022 CoC Program Competition Estimated Annual Renewal Demand (ARD) Report released on August 11, 2022, Fairfax County CoC (VA-601) is eligible to apply for up to $11,370,660 for renewal and new projects. This includes:
$10,080,294 in Renewal Funding (Supports existing projects operated by current HUD Grantees)
$504,015 in Bonus Funding (New Funding Opportunity)
$483,942 in DV Bonus Funding (New Funding Opportunity)
$302,409 in Planning Grant Funding (available to the Collaborative Applicant)
