Reston Comprehensive Plan Study Task Force Virtual Meeting on Tuesday, May 26

The Reston Comprehensive Plan Study Task Force, chaired by Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn, is meeting virtually on Tuesday, May 26, 7 to 9 p.m. The agenda includes the history of planning in Reston, examining elements of comprehensive planning and discussing topics for Task Force review and discussion.

More information, including Task Force members and January 2020 Board Matter that initiated plan study.

The meeting will be hosted on the Webex platform - use this link to attend and participate in the meeting. You will be prompted to register with your email address and ZIP Code before logging into meeting. If you prefer to listen to the meeting on your phone, you may call 1-408-418-9388 and use access code: 718 006 323. This is also the number to use if accessing TTY 711. The plan review and community engagement process, which began this month, is expected to take approximately 12 to 18 months. In addition to the Task Force, opportunities for community input will include public meetings and additional engagement processes. The Task Force is expected to meet every two weeks and will conclude with a report on its recommendations to be provided to the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.

“It has been five years since the current Comprehensive Plan for Reston was adopted and the time is right to review key elements of that plan, including the balance of existing and planned development, infrastructure and the environment across all of Reston," said Supervisor Alcorn.

Questions, comments or feedback regarding the Reston Area Study or Plan amendment process can be emailed to DPDUrbanCenters@FairfaxCounty.gov.
