The Redistricting Advisory Committee made recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on which district should be renamed, but the committee was not tasked to propose new names.

To accomplish its work, the committee established three workgroups for this effort.

Lee/Sully Workgroup

The following committee members belonged to this workgroup:

• Bill Bouie
• Candace Butler
• Richard Chew
• Bryon Garner 
• Coretta Perkins
• Sam Walker 

This workgroup was also initially tasked to evaluate the following voting precincts: Graham-Greenway, Hollin Hall, Lees Corner, Mosby, Oak Marr, Penderbrook, , Ravensworth, Stuart and Van Dorn. However, the committee ultimately did not take further action on voting precinct names.

Mount Vernon/Mason Workgroup

The following committee members belonged to this workgroup:

• George Becerra
• Paul Berry
• Jimmy Bierman
• Hon. Gerry Hyland
• Saif Rahman
• Lisa Sales
• Alis Wang

This workgroup was also initially tasked to evaluate the following voting precinct: Gunston. However, the committee ultimately did not take further action on voting precinct names.

Springfield Workgroup

The following committee members belonged to this workgroup:
