Strategic Plan Communications Toolkit

The most important message to convey is that the Strategic Plan is a framework for our work, focused on four key drivers and organized around 10 Community Outcome Areas. Each area has an accompanying indicators as well as its own dashboard with key metrics to help leaders, practitioners, and advocates make data-driven decisions.

Social Media Toolkit

The Countywide Strategic Plan is all about making Fairfax County work better for everyone by intentionally investing in the areas that our community has identified as being most important. We're using fresh ideas and teamwork to save money, improve processes, and promote and support both economic prosperity and a more equitable county. This plan is already making a big difference by helping us tackle inequalities with new tools and data, so we can support more effective programs and services.

Each year the team releases an annual report and the highlights within demonstrate how the county is using a thoughtful approach based on data to improve our quality of life. From enhancing public safety to expanding economic opportunities, the county remains focused on delivering meaningful actions for all residents.

We are currently updating the social media toolkit to include the release of the latest annual report and all ten dashboards. Check back frequently for updated materials or reach out to lori.epp@fairfaxcounty.gov for specific requests.

We welcome the opportunity to work together, especially on Instagram reels!

Dashboards and Data Stories on YouTube

Metrics are designed to inform and guide community leaders, practitioners, and advocates in making data-driven decisions. To help the community better understand and navigate these dashboards, we have created a tutorial video using the Healthy Communities area as an example.

Don't forget to share this valuable resource! The tutorial video is also available in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Urdu, and Farsi.

Connecting the Dots

Communities of Opportunity Dashboard

Through the Countywide Strategic Plan, the county’s vision is that all neighborhoods in Fairfax County will be communities of opportunity. As the Countywide Strategic Plan is implemented, we will focus on transforming areas where residents face economic, educational, health, housing, and other challenges to accessing opportunity more broadly. This dashboard offers two tools that display the variation in access to opportunity and wellbeing across the county: the Communities of Opportunity Index and the Communities of Opportunity Equity Map.
