Ribbon-cutting Ceremony Celebrates Completion of Leesburg Pike Sidewalks Under Chain Bridge Road

Fairfax County officials and community partners celebrated new pedestrian and bicycle connections in Tysons in a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday, Jan. 3.  Click here to view the event on 16 Around Fairfax.

Route 7 sidewalks

Two new sidewalks are part of the Dulles corridor bicycle and pedestrian access improvements and provide enhanced pedestrian access along Leesburg Pike with 1,100 feet of sidewalk on the north side and 800 feet of sidewalk on the south side. The improvements were designed by the Fairfax County Department of Transportation; constructed by the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES); and funded under the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Locally Administered Project (LAP) program.

Chairman Sharon Bulova, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Linda Q. Smyth, Providence District, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Catherine M. Hudgins, Hunter Mill District, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and Sol Glasner, President & CEO, Tysons Partnership were on hand to give remarks.
