Community members joined Fairfax County Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust, Virginia Delegate Kathleen Murphy, 34th District, and Fairfax County officials to celebrate the completion of the Baron Road Walkway in McLean. This new pedestrian facility includes 400 linear feet of concrete sidewalk that ties into the existing pedestrian facilities near Douglass Drive and the Dead Run Trail.
Other infrastructure improvements include a curb and gutter, curb ramps, driveway entrances
pavement modifications, closed drainage system. These improvements enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety.
Students from Churchill Road Elementary School participated in the ceremony. One of those students, Audrey Stover, spoke at the event. She had previously met with Supervisor Foust to talk about how important the sidewalk along Baron Road was for safety.
