Idylwood Road Walkway

Virtual Public Meeting Set for March 19, 7 p.m.

FCDOT will hold a virtual public meeting on the Idylwood Road Walkway project on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 7 p.m., to provide an overview of the proposed improvements, project schedule and anticipated impacts.

Project Information

Image of Idylwood Drive at Hillside CourtThe Idylwood Drive Walkway project will provide pedestrian and bicycle connectivity along the northwest side of Idylwood Road from Idylwood Court to Hillside Drive.

Planned improvements include:

  • construction of a minimum 8-foot wide asphalt walkway with a 3.5-foot wide buffer
  • curb and gutter, and
  • installation of 8 new ADA compliant ramps.

The new walkway will replace current sidewalk and asphalt trail segments to create one continuous path, replacing the existing 100 feet of sidewalk to the east of Idylwood Court and 170 feet of asphalt trail to the west of Hillside Drive.

Construction is projected to begin in November 2026 and be complete by July 2027.
