Find an Immunization

Get your child's immunizations up-to-date. Little girl giving a thumbs up.There are many places to get recommended child and adolescent immunizations throughout the Fairfax Health District, including at pharmacies and grocery stores that have pharmacies.

Don't delay, make sure your children are up to date on their childhood and school required immunizations as soon as possible.

Is your child up to date?

If you have questions about your child's immunizations:

  • Ask your child’s doctor which vaccines they need. They will help you schedule them.
  • Request a copy of your child's immunization records online or call 877-VAX-IN-VA.
  • See school and daycare immunization requirements from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).
  • If you are concerned about cost of vaccines, find a Virginia Vaccines for Children Program provider.

1Go to your doctor's office.

Parents and caregivers who have health insurance are urged to get an immunization where you get your health care. This could be your pediatrician or family physician. Many providers require an appointment, don't delay, schedule it today.

Families are also encouraged to catch-up on routine medical care they might have missed during the pandemic. This includes physicals, dental appointments, vision screenings, routine vaccinations, and more.

2Visit the Health Department.

The Fairfax County Health Department offers immunizations to all Fairfax County students as well those who are behind on their scheduled immunizations, need a booster, and to people who are new to country.

For your clinic appointment, bring the following items with you:

  • The child's immunization record and insurance card to the clinic.
  • Health Department forms (see Immunization Forms)

Parents who are unable to bring their child to an immunization clinic during the work day may send their child with a responsible adult who is over the age of 18 and can give permission for the vaccination on behalf of the parent.

Appointments are available during regular clinic hours and during the extended hour clinics listed below. Schedule your appointment today, call 703-246-7100!

Back-to-School Immunization Clinics

Get your child ready for the 2026-27 school year. Open to all Fairfax County students who need immunizations, regardless of whether they have had vaccines in the past, are new to the country, or need a follow-up to be up to date.

Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are also welcome. Parents are also advised to bring with them their child's immunization record.
