Your Input is Needed – New Draft Relocation Guidelines

photoThe Fairfax County Relocation Guidelines have been established to ensure a safe and equitable relocation process for tenants displaced by demolition, redevelopment, rehabilitation, acquisition, or condominium conversion for projects subject to the County’s Affordable Housing Preservation Policy. The existing policy was adopted by the Board of Supervisors in 1993 and revised in 2012. These new draft guidelines are designed to clarify present requirements, including alignment with the County’s Affordable Housing Preservation Policy Administrative Guidelines in the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan, and to include equity considerations reflecting the County’s One Fairfax policy. Also included are enhanced resident benefits and increased notifications and communications. Relocation guidelines for manufactured homes are being separately developed and will be released when ready.
