Task Force Activities

The Task Force provides essential and detailed information to policy makers, administrative staff, housing providers, lenders and fair housing advocates, and assists in building public support for fair housing efforts.

It ensures that regular contact and working arrangements are created and maintained with those with an interest in fair housing, other local government entities, advocacy groups, housing providers, other institutions, and the general public.

The Task Force also provides a forum for discussion and clarification of the fair housing needs of various communities.

In addition, the Task Force provides direction for fair housing testing as well as education and outreach activities.

For example, some of the responsibilities the Task Force may address:

  • Clarifying the fair housing needs of the various communities.
  • Identifying community groups and service providers needing fair housing outreach.
  • Offering input on various fair housing projects.
  • Providing legislative updates and recommendations on fair housing related issues.
  • Assessing the County’s Fair Housing Plan and making recommendations for changes to the Human Rights Commission for consideration by the Board of Supervisors.
  • Suggesting projects to undertake to mitigate discrimination and promote fair housing.
