Residential Truss Shop Drawings

Residential truss shop drawings and related documents must be reviewed and approved by the county prior to truss erection. Those who choose to submit their truss package after permit issuance must do so as a revision in PLUS. Standard revision fees will apply. Learn how to submit a revision by watching this video on YouTube.

The truss shop drawing package must be uploaded in PLUS and include the following to pass prescreen review:

  • Profile sheets for all truss types in a single PDF file with a valid electronic signature of the Virginia-licensed designer – Document Type: Truss Package
  • Truss layout plan – Document Type: Plans
  • A completed Fairfax County Truss Plan Cover Sheet – Document Type: Truss Cover Sheet
  • Revision Narrative – Document Type: Revision Narrative
