The Housing Committee was constituted. Commissioner Candice Bennett was elected Chairman and Commissioner Walter Clarke was elected Vice Chairman.

 

December 1, 2022

Department of Housing and Community Development staff gave a presentation on the County's Preservation of Affordable Housing effort and the recommendations from the Manufactured Housing Task Force. Staff also responded to questions from the Committee. The presentations can be found below.

The committee received a presentation on workforce dwelling units from the Fairfax County Departments of Planning and Zoning, and Housing and Development. Staff and the committee discussed proposed amendment changes to the Workforce Dwelling Unit Policy Plan.

The Committee was constituted. Commissioner Julie Strandlie was elected Chairman and Commissioner Candice Bennett was elected Vice Chairman. The committee received a presentation on affordable housing in Fairfax County from the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development. Staff and the committee discussed various housing needs to include; seniors, families with small children, persons with disabilities, and employee housing near job sites for professions such as teaching.
