Proposed Street Design Updates-VDOT Summer 2015 Repaving from Fairfax County
Shipplet Boulevard from Burke Lake Road to Old Keene Mill Road AND Burke Road from Burke Lake Road to Rolling Road. The meeting will be held at the West Springfield Community Center, Community Room located at 6140 Rolling Road to discuss adding bike lanes. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7.
Proposed Bicycle Facilities-VDOT Summer 2015 Repaving-Springfield District from Fairfax County
7:00-9:00 PM. Tysons: Multiple streets and bicycle facilities. There are multiple proposals to improve safety for people who drive, bike, and walk in Tysons. The meeting is being held in the cafeteria at Westbriar Elementary School, 1741 Pine Valley Dr, Vienna, VA 22182. The following list represents the proposals that will be discussed:
- Greensboro Drive: Road Diet from Spring Hill Road to Solutions Drive
- Westbranch Drive: Road Diet from Westpark Drive to Jones Branch Drive
- Jones Branch Drive: Climbing lane towards Westpark Drive for 0.3 mi
- Westwood Center Drive: Sharrows from Route 7 to the end of the Road
- Park Run Drive: Bike Lanes from Jones Branch Drive to Tysons Boulevard
- Westpark Drive: Climbing Lane from Galleria Drive to International Drive
7:00-8:30 PM. Mount Vernon District: Multiple streets and bicycle facilities. There are multiple proposals to improve the transportation environment for people who drive, bike, and walk in the Mount Vernnon District. The meeting is being held at the Mount Vernon Government Center, 2511 Parkers Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306. The following list represents the proposals that will be discussed:
- Fordson Road: Sharrows from Sherwood Hall Lane to Route 1
- Quander Road: Lane diet and bike lanes from Route 1 to Quander Elementary School
- Hinson Farm Road: Lane diet and bike lanes from Parkers Lane to Holland Road
- Parkers Lane/Collingwood Rd: Lane diet and bike lanes from Sherwood Hall Lane to Candlewood Drive
- Beacon Hill Road/Belle View Boulevard: Combination of bike lanes and sharrows from Route 1 to Fort Hunt Road
Proposed Bicycle Facilities-VDOT Summer 2015 Repaving: Mount Vernon District from Fairfax County
Mason District: Annanndale Road and Evergreen Lane. Each of these two projects proposes to reduce the existing travel lane width, and repurpose the extra space for bike lanes. No travel lanes will be removed. The meeting is being held at George Mason Regional Library 7001 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003. The meeting scheduled fro 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
