The Legislative Committee of the Board of Supervisors develops annually Fairfax County’s state Legislative Program and Human Services Issue Paper, as well as the federal Legislative Program. The Committee discusses a wide variety of topics and issues and is particularly active during the annual Virginia General Assembly session, holding weekly meetings throughout that time.
The Committee discusses and closely monitors legislation (including budget legislation) proposed by the state and federal governments that may affect Fairfax County and its residents, in order to advocate on the County’s behalf and ensure the best outcome for County residents on critical issues.
